Privacy
Privacy policy
This policy explains how the operators of 24 Hour Finance NZ ("we", "us", "our") handles personal and business information when you use this website or enquire about business finance. We manage personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. Applications are handled by LoansOne New Zealand.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to understand your enquiry and help arrange business finance. That can include:
- your name, phone number, email address and role in the business;
- business details such as your business name, NZBN or company number, industry, trading history, region and monthly turnover;
- how much you want to borrow, what it's for and when you need it;
- details of any property you may offer as security;
- identification documents, bank statements, financial statements, tax information and details of existing debts;
- credit information, once you decide to proceed; and
- information about other people connected to the application, such as co-directors, trustees or guarantors.
Most information comes directly from you through our online enquiry form, by phone or by email. We also record how you found our website (for example the page you first landed on and the page you enquired from). With your consent we may obtain information from credit reporters, identity and bank-statement verification services, public registers such as the Companies Register, the NZBN register, the Personal Property Securities Register and Land Information New Zealand, and professionals you nominate, such as your accountant or lawyer.
How we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and talk with you about suitable finance options;
- to assess and arrange business finance with the lender best suited to your situation — we don't send your details out to a long list of lenders;
- to verify your identity, including under anti-money laundering obligations;
- to comply with our legal obligations;
- to run our business, keep records, handle complaints and improve our website and services; and
- to tell you about other business finance options that may suit you — you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
To arrange your finance we may share information with the lender and funders involved in your application, related finance businesses that assess and settle business loans, credit reporters (only once you choose to proceed), verification providers, valuers and lawyers (for property-secured loans), professional advisers, our IT and service providers, and government agencies where the law requires it. Some service providers may store data outside New Zealand; where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a comparable standard.
Your consent
When you submit an enquiry you agree to us collecting, using and sharing your information for the purposes in this policy, and to us contacting you by phone, text and email about your enquiry. Enquiring doesn't involve a credit check; we'll ask before any credit check happens. If you give us information about someone else, such as a co-director or guarantor, you confirm you're authorised to do so and that you've told them about this policy.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, use, change or disclosure. We keep information only as long as we need it for a lawful purpose, then securely destroy or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request or a privacy complaint, contact us through our contact page marked "Privacy request", or call 09 888 5252. We'll respond as soon as reasonably practicable. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
